Banana Ice Cream (1 ingredient!)
During the month of a cleanse (more on that next week), the need to get something sweet in my belly reached an all time high. I thought walnuts were tasting sweet. When in dire situations, it is amazing what you can find online with the few ingredients you are allowed to eat. That's when I discovered the magical thing that is banana ice cream.
Wait? There is a dessert that is 89 calories (according to a quick Google search), has one ingredient and makes hot days bearable and satisfies the sweet tooth?! Sign me up!
You might start buying bananas just so you can make this every day. This girl already has four bananas in her freezer ready to be blitz into a creamy dessert...
Unfortunately, the last batch of ice cream finally did in my not super awesome food processor (why are all the parts made out of plastic?!). Now I must wait until a new part arrives for the next batch!
Feel free to add fruit (like berries), cocoa powder or whatever flavour you want! Seriously, this will change your life.
RECIPE
Banana Ice Cream
1 serving
=======
Ingredients
-----------
1 ripe banana (the riper the better!)
Instructions
------------
1. Peel banana and cut into ~1 inch slices. Place in container and freeze.
2. Once frozen (I'd leave it at least overnight or all day), add banana slices to food processor.
3. Puree until a creamy consistency.*
4. Place in bowl and add any desired toppings!**
5. Buy more bananas and repeat.
Notes
* Depending on the moistness of your bananas (yes, that's a thing), you may need to add a bit of milk, either dairy or non-dairy. Just to help it reach the desired creamy level.
** You can add any additional flavours while you are blending too! Feel free to add berries, cocoa powder, flaked coconut, matcha or a sweetener of choice.
