I'm not too sure at what point I decided it was time to document my kitchen adventures and start sharing with the world. I think I owe credit to coworkers, social media comments and my mom (she's always eager to see what I'm doing). I'm not an overly public person. While I share most of what comes out of my kitchen, I feel apprehensive about it. What if people don't care? But then I figured out something great - it doesn't matter if people care about my bread or canning or what I'm eating for dinner. It makes me happy, so I'm going to do what makes me happy.
I still have so much to learn in the kitchen. I'm still not really sure when I should use baking powder versus baking soda. I'm also a strict recipe follower. That's where part of the adventure comes in. If you're expecting fancy, tried and tested recipes, you're probably in the wrong spot. What you will get is someone who would spend all day in the kitchen if she could, who wants to learn, try new things and is obsessed with looking at her cookbooks.
Why t + tblspoons? My heart is in baking, but since I can't have cake for dinner (it is tough being an adult), savory food must come into the equation. Teaspoons and tablespoons are universal in all food preparation. I grew up looking at recipes that my mom and both sets of grandma's had handwritten. I have a fondness of the way their recipes were written:
2 t vanilla
2 tbl sugar
Plus the url was available.
Welcome and I hope you enjoy!
